Ah, the days before safety regs. Back when you just bolted a couch to the floor and called it a day.

Originally bought to chop and make a lead sled, this car is too nice for that.

Good choice.

Nice!

A buddy of mine has a beautiful survivor ‘48 Packard, and a ‘48 Caddy to go with it. They were featured in Hemmings.

Indeed. This one needs to be preserved.

The Packard’s dash!

I’m going to need a moment to compose myself.

It’s a thing of beauty.

Should you ever find yourself in Chicagoland, I can likely arrange for you to see it in person. Perhaps a ride as well, if the weather allows. It’s a great cruising car. Tony loves to talk the ears off about it to anybody who will listen.

I have a ‘48 too (22nd series in Packard language). It looks fairly nice in this picture but it has a lot of imperfections. The interior is quite horrible. I wish the interior would look like what the linked example has.

Tony was really fortunate to find that ‘48, and while I won’t disclose what he paid for it, lemme just say he friggen stole the thing! He’s the best care taker that car could’ve possible ended up with though.

While yours may not be in as good of shape, it’s a really cool car nonetheless.
